Products identified by a
button may be rented on either a daily, episode or
monthly basis. Please note: rentals must be submitted to the patient's
health care or workers' compensation plan.
The initial rental period is selected when the "Rent" button is selected. If a rental
period is not selected, the period will default to the minimum available. If
you want to increase or decrease the length of a rental period, please contact
our Customer Service Center.
Rental days include the date the product is delivered until
the date the product is returned or purchased. Monthly rentals are charged in
30-day increments (e.g. rental for part of a month is charged for the entire
month). Daily rentals are charged in
one-week minimum time frames. For products having specific episodes of care,
the rental periods are either 3 weeks or 6 weeks each.
DirectDME notifies you via email and/or telephone when the end of the rental period approaches. At
that time, you may inform us if you wish to continue the rental, purchase the
product or return the products. If you chose to change a monthly rental to a
purchase, the following payment is applied:
- Rented less than two months: Purchase price less rental already paid
-
Rented greater than two months: Purchase price less rental already
paid, plus a surcharge equivalent to two months rental fee
-
For products with Episodes of Care, a surcharge is applied at the time of purchase. Please contact
customer service for more information on the surcharge applied to the product
you have selected.
Unless otherwise agreed, the customer has 30 days to pay the balance between incurred rental charges and the
purchase price. When a rental changes to a purchase, the customer agrees to
purchase the product "as is".
